Steve.Nelson
Hello All, I'm starting a feature in LA on Monday. My boom op had to fly home for family emergency and she's going to miss the first day of production. The rate is $175. Shooting in Long Beach at a stage. I hate to show up here with a low paying gig, but perhaps this would be a good opportunity for somebody new-ish. Students or recent grads welcome. I'm always interested in meeting new folks, so if you've got the day free and you'd like to help a brother out - drop me a line. stephennelson384 at gmail.com This is me: http://www.imdb.com/name/nm2052965/ Thanks! Rick Reineke
In my tenure, a C-stand is usually a better option than an inexperienced 'boom op'. easier on the gear too, an expensive mic/boom pole set-up in the hands of an idiot, spells d-i-s a-s-t-e-r. macruth
Forget the stand, get an eager guy, boom operators exist for a darn good reason, that being said, a completely inexperienced operator better be really "eager" to get the work
