Whit Norris
Hey everyone thanks you for everyone that participated in the ATL cook out at my house as well as the ATL Sound Mixer EVENT. Everyone was so generous from everyone that brought so much to my house from food, to beer, wine and liquor. Thanks to everyone from myself Chris and Kathy. All I can say is WOW! With all the folks here from the sound community. Our Host Jeff Wexler here on JW, as well as Eric Toline and yes the Senator was here, great guy in person as always... they are our oldest members... yes guys I can give them a hard time and tease them... with so much love of course. We had sound mixers, manufacturers, and dealers from the whole country come to the event. Zaxcom, Glen and Colleen.. Glen what can you say but the man that changed our world with the Deva. Colleen always lights up the room as well as is one of my favorites to drink with! Jon from Sound Devices with his input and gear and inside.. Also a man that has changed our world. Of course Gordon from Lectro.. you can not meet a nicer guy. Lectro... Larry and the gang they are the best. Oh my gosh we got Brenda this year from K-Tek another lady that lights up the room. Sorry Dave we loved having Brenda this year! Gene from the Audio Dept, another guy that is so nice and a great mixer that gives us some great tools to work with. Pro Sound was here raising the bar and helping with our weekend. RVD one of my favorites. We worked on the same film 20 years ago where we first met. Rich is such a upstanding guy and he had Cynthia down here from NY to join the event. Rich Topham thank for your support here. We are blessed to have Trew Audio and Gotham now in Atlanta. Thanks to Peter and Glen for all of their generosity for the event, both great guys. We also had their teams here. Rob Milner here from Nashville.. another guy I enjoy having a drink with and I consider a good friend. A lot of the Trew Nashville gang was down for support and even the big dog Richard Rosen was down from Nashville. Gotham had all of their new Atlanta team on board Marty, TJ and Ben. I can not leave out Doug Hill who is on their team. One of our senior boom ops that is on board. Also Joe was down from the Big Apple from Gotham.. I also enjoy hanging with Joe at the party another I have enjoyed hanging with, Joe Foglia that is managing Trew in Atlanta was around. Another great mixer in the mix of our market here in the ATL that I have the most respect for and consider a friend. Russ Brown from DPA jumped in and brought a lot to the table. As always my friend and great supporter of the sound community Charlie from Denecke gave us support. Versa Flex joined in with all of their great products. They also can make us what we need. Thanks Dave another great guy! Also Crawford Post Productions and Greg Crawford and the IZotope Presentation.. invaluable to all us sound mixers and what we can get away with and what we can make work. Thanks Greg as always! There were so many including Redding and with all they represent and all of the others that gave so much and so much support. Thank You! I'm sure I left someone out... I'm sorry if I did. Long weekend... but a great one. Thanks to all that made this happen here and all of our sound community across the board, JW sound and all over they world.. I like to think we are one community world wide. Just my personal post from this weekend here in the ATL. Thanks, Whit And Chris as my partner in this event
Eric Toline
Well as the "oldest" guy and the founder of the "Ramps" party at NAB, I am absolutely amazed and delighted at what a couple of guys having a drink together at NAB 24 years ago has become. Major props to Chris & Whit for making the Atlanta Mixers Mixer the goto event along with NAB. On a personal note it was just the best to see my old friend Jeff Wexler again after 8 years at NAB. studiomprd
As Whit has gone fishing, I'll add that Robert Noone was there from Location Sound, and supplied a new Yamaha Mixer demo hooked up in use at the SD table... ...and Ron Meyers from PSC sent his latest mini-Solice prototype (via Richard Van Dyke of PSS NOLA) for showing... studiomprd
interesting product developments from ATL, though the new DEVA was not seen... Glen introduced a recent product, as did SD and Eric revived an old one and I preferred to socialize... and make new friends Edited June 24, 2014 by studiomprd

Jeff Wexler
Just a note to those who end up posting images that are not displayed correctly: there is no way for any site routine or utility to rotate these images. The fact that they are rotated is stored in the metadata of the image so if you post it here and it is tagged as portrait or landscape, whatever, it will be displayed that way. I have gone into some of these posts, pulled the image off the site, rotated it to the proper orientation and then re-posted. This can be avoided if the poster opens the image in any graphics program (or even Preview on a Mac) and set it to the proper orientation before posting.
