The Long, Slow Vanish Of Britain's Illustrious Recording Clubs

Not just recording, but when I started in filmmaking there was a  big movement across the Commonwealth countries for cinema clubs, that is clubs where they made movies.  They had their own magazines, festivals, workshops etc, and some of the films were pretty good.  They were really great as a sort of loose coop of people helping each other to make little films.  In my youth, I tried to start similar organizations in California and Oregon, but failed pretty much.  I guess the Brits are more cooperative than we are.
