pvanstry
I have a shoot coming up and I will be using an MS pair ( Sennheiser mkh50-30 ). For the sake of post, I will be recording the MS in the same recorder used for the rest of the audio. I want to be able to listen to the MS while mixing the other mono source ( boom and wireless mics ). I will use a Sound devices 664. Now if I listen using the LR ST MS headphone preset, I hear the MS pair in stereo ( great ) but boom and wireless are mono ( even if I pan them ). Is there a way to keep recording the MId and the side as separate mics ( not matrices to an MS stereo ) but retain mono source for the rest ( being able to pan them and separate them in my ears? Thanks
sinewave
Hi, just an idea, try to pair input 1&2 as an MS pair and monitor with LR. I have SD 633 and it works for me, since I did some documentary jobs in similar way. Hope that helps.
pvanstry
Just tried, a friend of mine ( Pablo Villegas ) suggested the same thing. He wasn't sure because I tought that it would record a matrix signal instead of a discreet mid and side but it works. Thanks

Thanks I think it will record discrete M and S signals as long as you keep them "pre-fade". (input to iso routing on sd 633)
