Hi Peter and Nathan

 

Thanks for the info.  The Tram TR-50 AFAIK may be neg-biased as I found in a user manual online they seem to have been produced both ways.  It doesn't want to work with the standard pos-biased wiring in the SMB user manual.  Have we blown its mind?  If not, how should we wire it?

For a negative bias Tram to a TA5 the ground goes to pin 3 and the positive goes to pin 1. Jump pins 2 & 4. No connection to pin 5 as that's for a line level input. There should be a minus sign (-) marking on the capsule body indicating negative bias.
