sksound
About to start a show for HBO. Haven't seen the equipment rental agreement yet, but the DIT tells me that, essentially, HBO will not cover insurance for owner-operator equipment. Anybody have this experience? studiomprd
Hi, and welcome SK: " a show for HBO...HBO will not cover insurance for owner-operator equipment. " HBO is a cable network, a big place: they commission (finance) numerous projects, but rarely, if ever, are actually the production company, thus you are dealing with a production company, and not directly with HBO. not only me, but others here, including our host, have done projects that were for HBO, and had insurance certificates. " Anybody have this experience? " yes, and if you did a little reading on jwsoundgroup.net in the last 13 months since you signed up, you would know what has been said in recent threads about productions dealing with equipment insurance, and how to handle this situation. jgullotta3
In my experience, nor does ESPN, NBC, or NFL Network. I am responsible for my own insurance on my equipment. I am interested in places that will insure my equipment! Where does that happen?
studiomprd
jG: " places that will insure my equipment! Where does that happen? " that happens at insurance agencies, or with insurance brokers; there are also threads on jwsoundgroup.net that discuss numerous places folks like us get equipment insurance.. normally the OB truck / network broadcasts supply all the equipment, and you can be certain it is all insured, whether it comes with the truck, or is rented separately... you also need to do some searching and reading here; for best search reslults, I still suggest Google, with jwsoundgroup.net as the first search term.
