MichaelLile
Has anyone used this DigiGear card adapter (or any other brand) with the 664? I stumbled upon this on B&H and the price is right at $14.99. It it works it could save a lot of money since sd cards are generally cheaper than cf cards for the same storage capacity. Normally for that price I would just buy it and see for myself, but I've accumulated a pile of seemingly cool internet-order gadgets that turned out to be junk. Rob Lewis
But do you really want to risk messing with the machines slot and screwing up your recordings or locking up your machine.
ProSound
I'd email this info to SD Support and see if they will buy one and give a go or no go on it I won't risk it
Philip Perkins
I asked about this kind of thing when the 664 first came out and was told they hadn't done any testing at all of sd adapters. I think in SD-speak that is a qualified "no". philp
studiomprd
after a couple years of lurking, welcome ML: "Normally for that price I would just buy it and see for myself, " good idea... if that is really what you want to do... many of us believe and find CF cards to be worth the price, especially as they are professional tools for our livelihood, and thus part of the cost of doing business. studiomprd
if the money is an issue, maybe use a Zoom recorder, as they use SD cards, and you'll really be saving...
