Global Warming Panic explained

Mirror

I had to stop watching when I realized they don't even know what "global warming" is, and all their scientific knowledge comes from somebody like Rush Limbaugh. Global Warming models have ALWAYS called for colder Winters. Global Warming means the AVERAGE annual temperature consistently rises and that's enough to melt what had previously been permanently frozen. That doesn't mean Winter in Boston will feel like San Diego, quite the opposite. It will be colder, but the Summer will be hotter and the average for the year will be higher than a decade earlier.

For reasons I can't understand, there are many people who seem to think that climate and weather must be consistent over time or disaster of epic proportions will take place. Neither climate nor weather have been, or ever will be truly consistent. We live on a big blue ball in space that is a living organism itself. It will do what it will do and we are along for the ride.

"We live on a big blue ball in space that is a living organism itself. It will do what it will do and we are along for the ride."

And we'll do what we do and we may be responsible for ending that ride for not only for us but for much of the rest of the life forms that the "big blue ball in space" has been supporting. To think that "It will do what it will do" and we are just passive "riders" completely ignores the unprecedented impact on the planet that "we" (human beings) have had in our relatively short time on the planet.

I didn't want to imply that we shouldn't take care of the planet. We should do everything we can to be good stewards of where we live. I have really enjoyed reading about the solar energy opportunities that members of this group have adapted, and I hope this is a wave of the future.

Even if we do take meticulous care, and all of the other countries get on board, there will continue to be inconsistencies in weather and climate over time. There are members of the public that listen to extremists (from both sides) and they lose this part of the big picture.

made me realise,  cars,  electricity,  turning lights off,  riding a bike to work,  relatively speaking, does hardly anything.

Compared with the meat agriculture.  worth a watch,  amazing documentary.

there was one point in that doco that made me really think long and hard,  it said that 1 big mac takes 650 gallons of water to produce.

yet the california water comittee said best thing we can do to save water is have shorter showers,  get better shower heads.  When he asked them what about the meat agriculture ( water consumption )  they said...  we can't comment on that, hehehehe

amazing documentary as I said,  mind blowing for me personally. and i'm not a vegan!,  check it out.

Don't worry too much about water consumption. Water doesn't get consumed as such, it's a cyclic medium, so to speak. What does get more complicated though, is cleaning it so that it becomes safe for drinking again. What is a problem though, is that water does move around the planet (in clouds) and thanks to global warming (whatever causes it) it rains down in different places than it did before. This may mean that certain dry areas get drier, others get flooded and thus have problems with floods and so on. But the total amount of water on earth more or less stays the same. In fact, again thanks to global warming, more water becomes available due to the melting snow caps.

Saving water is useful though, to keep the water local

yes true,

but tell that to areas affected by drought and water restrictions.

water consumption is out of control in the animal agriculture.

interesting times,
