Marc Wielage
Timecode's off! They used to use giant clap sticks in the 1940s and 1950s for sync, particularly in huge wide shots with multiple cameras.
Karl Wasserman
I used to love those gigantic Denecke Concert Slates. http://www.richmondfilmservices.com/equipment/time-code-equipment/TCE003.html
RPSharman
40's and 50's? We had giant sticks on a handful of action films I did back when I was a video guy and still shooting film, 1990's.
Marc Wielage
Really? I didn't know they were using the giant sticks that late. I worked on many, many films in post in the 1990s and I dearly wished we could've had the giant sticks. I can think of 6 & 7-camera shoots that just had maybe 3 or 4 regular-sized slates at best. Very tough to sync up in post.
RPSharman
I only remember because it was always fun when the giant sticks came out. I'm pretty sure they were on "Wild Wild West". But I struggle to remember the others.

Richard Ragon
Hey guys.. I failed to post that this is a clip from "gardians of the galaxy"!! Which was made this year, and not in the 90s. -Richard
Joshua Anderson
Our construction grip made a pair of giant sticks that our scenic, very nicely, painted for us on a TV show that used a lot of super wide crane shots. Obviously, no time code, but better than the tiny slate that was appearing in the wide shots because the camera was 30 feet in the air. I think mine are about 3 feet long. Pretty handy to have...and always good for a few laughs too.
