Matt Martin
Ooo very cool! Sounds like it will only work in conjunction with a QRX235 or IFB200. No mention of it working through the Nomad tho. Either way, very cool functionality!
bralleput
Ah Philp you are talking about Colleen!
Jeff Wexler
Colleen of course!! The app's pretty cool, didn't see that coming (and I thought I knew about everything).

Jack Norflus
This could potentially kick off a whole series of apps.
Shastapete
Jack, how does the phone communicate with the qrx235/ifb200? In the video it is totally wireless, was that just because it was being demoed?
Jack Norflus
A small WiFi dongle would need to get plugged into the serial port on the qrx
Shastapete
Or maybe another option for the yet-to-be-announced "other recorders" supported by the ambient beetle?
RadoStefanov
Great. Lets have one for Nomad and if possible windows desktop and windows phone app A small WiFi dongle would need to get plugged into the serial port on the qrx
callou
An Android app with control over Nomad metadata is what i ve been dreaming of for a long time... Envoyé de mon Nexus 4 en utilisant Tapatalk
Matt Martin
A small WiFi dongle would need to get plugged into the serial port on the qrx Jack, has there been any talk of trying to make it work through the Nomad instead of a QRX/QIFB? The Nomad also has a serial port, so hopefully it's physically possible.

Matt Martin
This is the first zaxcom app - if all works out well this could potentially be the first of many. Awesome! However, I didn't mean a different app to control the Nomad (which would also be awesome!) but was wondering if this exact app would be able to use the Nomad as the IFB transmitter instead of having to own a QRX235 with the QIFB option or an IFB200. The video makes it sound like this app will only work if the user has one of those two devices. Hopefully it can also be made to work with the Nomads IFB TX. But time will tell! Jack Norflus
Zaxcom has always been on the cutting edge of technology, and features to make your work flow easier. What's in store for the future? All I can say is buckle up for a fun ride.

johnpaul215
Since we are going to completely guess until somebody officially answers...... If it's a Zaxcom custom dongle with WiFi, then it probably uses the pass-through ability of the QRX's serial ports to just let the module's data go over Zaxnet. Colleen did say "hopefully it will also work with IFB200", which doesn't have the serial ports. If it works with IFB200, that same interface may work with a TRX900CL. Anyway, I'm excited that Zaxcom is tinkering with iOS apps at all. It's way to early to make request lists, let alone complaints.
RadoStefanov
I would love MAXX zaxnet through BNC first.
Wandering Ear
This looks great. I'm hoping this will be expanded to use the Nomad's transmitter as well, I only use my QIFB option in my MAXX bag. Also hoping they decide to support the Android platform as well. Obviously talking long term. Very exciting news.

Refine
So does this work through the QRX235 IFB Option, or is a separate dongle needed? Are users beta testing the Zaxmote app yet?
