nickreich
Hi All, Has anyone come across a small and light NP-1 Charger that is more suitable for lightweight travel than the usual two-slot desktop ones. Something similar to IDX's EC-1 ( http://www.idxtek.com/products/endura_ch.html ) but for NP-1s? I've been through all the websites of the usual gear shops both in the US and here in Australia, and come up blank. Has anyone made their own with an NP-1 cup and a plugpack style charger from another market? It would need to cope with NiMH and Li-ion chemistries. It doesn't have to be that fast a charge. thanks, nick
wbrisett
Nick: I have a single well charger that was made by IDX for a company that used them in cell towers. I bought it off eBay a few years back when they were liquidating them. The only problem is they only charge the older NiMH batteries. However, if you're interested in it, I'll make you a deal on it since I rarely use it these days since I was able to pick up a 4 bay unit. nickreich
Wayne, Thanks for that, but I've got a mix of NiMH and Li-ion, so I'll keep looking at the moment - I'm imagining something like an in-line multi-voltage laptop PSU with a NP-1 cup on the end... Cheers, nick

Am I right in that not all Np1s have that connection? Can't seem to find it on the VariZoom version.

Richard Thomas
Interresting, didn't know you could charge np1s that way. Am I right in that not all Np1s have that connection? Can't seem to find it on the VariZoom version. You can probably wire a female hirose on, which would work with an NP1 shoe, I did this with a similar charger and it works
Sandor Gyurkovics
+1 for the switronix stetup with LP60s. I know you said you had a mix of batts, so this might not be for you, but for the future it's a great setup.
petersont
+1 here also for the switronix travel charger - not the fastest but always ready before I am in the morning, charges 2 Np1s via their "powertap port" ( switronix specific… ) bought mine over 6 (?) years ago with a pair of np60s - never failed me.
