Mick
Am I missing something? Why do I have to scroll through every scene number I've Ever entered into the 788 in order to enter a new one? Hard to imagine why they Wouldn't at least alphabetize them making them easier to find, or is there a procedure I'm missing?
Joshua Anderson
Are you always "adding a new entry" or "renaming"? Personally, I keep a list of episodes as that's how I label my shots. So I'll have 101-33G, 102-4K, etc. Each representing the last shot we filmed in that episode. If we go back and reshoot a previous episode, I just rename the last one for that episode. Constantin
Yeah but they still dont group in any chronological order, I dont think I think chronologically is exactly the order they sort in, but not alphabetically. But I haven't resaerched it... I just use the last scene name that was in the same format and rename it
afewmoreyears
I don't use the scene numbers, I do, but not that way... I name once each day and let them count up one at a time. But... if I did, I would look at the scenes we were to do at the beginning of the day... take a moment to add those to the "list" then pull them up as we did them that day.... I would NOT keep a ton on the list. I would clear them each from time to time..... Or, simply rename as you go...
pkautzsch
Did the "add new entry" way when I started out, giving me a loooong list. Now my list has exactly three items: standard scene-take, wild take, background/roomtone. Each gets renamed for whichever scene we're shooting. It's even faster when using a keyboard shortcut. That's basically what I do. A few files, one with just number, a few with FX, WT, etc. It's so fast to edit them, I don't even think about it any more. bralleput
Mick contacted JW forum. A good start!
Joshua Anderson
Mick contacted JW forum. A good start! Definitely a good start. Why not start with the more popular choice than the SD forum? I would think you'd get many more opinions here. Maybe even an opinion that you shouldn't bother utilizing Jeff's site. But to each their own.

Mark LeBlanc
Every day I delete the previous days scenes and start fresh every day. If I need to reference something in the past it's in Movieslate app or still on the main drive. keeps my main scene list nice and quick.
