Can someone (eric?) please drop some knowledge on the correct pin configuration? Thanks!! XLR. Ground to pins 1 & 3, positive to pin 2. Easy way to ground pins 1 & 3 is to split the ground/shield into two separate leads, twist and tin them then connect one lead to pin 1 and the other to pin 3. 3.5 mm TS or TRS, ground to sleeve, positive to the tip. Make sure the cable is at least 6" long because that's the antenna.

studiomprd
of course you are unbalancing the entire system (cable) by doing this... may have power issues...

Have you no clue how many in/out connections on the newest gear have unbalanced connections? None have power issues.
Glen Trew
Have you no clue how many in/out connections on the newest gear have unbalanced connections? None have power issues. Oh... Some have power issues, but none that would be solved by balancing. gt

That's some standard to judge by. Could it be the teacher? I guess it depends.
