TomBoisseau
While this has been discussued before, we have seen some recent additions to the market. I would be interested in hearing opinons regarding the the new Sound Guys Solutions QL and the Orka OR-45, (and others I may be unaware of) and how they compare to the Ambient system. Thanks, Tom
RadoStefanov
Orca is a lot better then Ambient. Very easy in and out with just a slight pull down. No need for twisting. Also the price is a lot better.
jason porter
SGS QL is great too, so far.
Olle Sjostrom
The only system that I really care for is the one that's built in to the poles. K-tek, Vdb, PSC and Loon all have that. It makes sense. In my mind, any after market quick release would add strain o the threads and/or weight with a weird offset. The ambient is a good system, sure, but it doesn't beat the poles where you can take the top off. The orca looks like it could be slightly better, but looking at the size of it and imagining how a full zepp on a long pole would feel..... Christopher Mills
Sound Guy Solutions ql is very good. comparable quality to Ambient, but different mechnism.
Doug Osborn
My vote is for the SGS-Boom QR system (newest generation). I ordered one and used it for a week. So pleased I put their QR system on all my boom poles and suspension mounts.
Jim Rillie
Me, old school THe quick release starts on the boom. Panamic system works best and most reliably for me. Anything else than a Panamic boom, I add the adapter on the 3/8 thread - it stays there on my non- Panamix booms.
