Tapio81L
Hello, I have been thinking to buy used Deva V. Only thing what I am thinking that will there be problems if it breaks? Is that machine easily repaired or are parts too hard to get or something that repairing the machine is not easy or too expensive? Any thoughts. Beside that machine looks perfect. RPSharman
I think someone told me there is a legal requirement in some countries to support items for 10 years after sale. So depending on when the Deva V was last a "current" item, you should have 10 years from there to have reliable support. In theory. I expect you're getting a good deal, so it's more than likely worth it, if the Deva V offers the features you're looking for.
Jack Norflus
I know Zaxcom announced when they discontinued deva and fusion that they have no plans to discontinue servicing them.
John Blankenship
The Devas are awesome machines and are used by a large number of mixers on many of the top films shot today. So, if Zaxcom were to drop support on them too soon, it would likely do severe damage to the company's reputation. I don't envision that happening. When Zaxcom dealt with my Deva V last year, I was quite happy with the results -- they went above and beyond. I wouldn't be at all hesitant to buy a good used one. Jack Norflus
Plus I beleive zaxcom has a fairly large stock of parts available. Given that I can't imagine that they will last forever but you are good for quite some time.
nysounds
When I bought my Deva V a few years ago used, it was pretty much a legacy product then, but I didn't hesitate to jump at it. It's an amazing recorder that will remain relevant for years to come. Mine is actually due for a mothership visit soon.
John Bauman
+1 on the Deva V. Never regretted getting one, and Howy at Zaxcom provided excellent support for me.
