Richard Ragon
OK, while on set the other day I found this.. It's an XLR Left/Right to GoPro audio converter box! So send your audio hops to a GoPro cam?? The camera department had this.. found it interesting.. I won't be using this, but hell.. I might have a client that request it one day.. -Richard
dfisk
I've run audio to a GoPro...as reference. There is pretty much no audio control on the camera at all. It isn't designed with sound in mind. It does have audio input on it, but nobody uses it for serious audio. It's AGC. It's cool for getting better audio for extreme sports stuff, but not for serious film making.
Mungo
I'm very thankful to the GoPro designers that they have not built in any audio controls. So nobody gets the idea of asking me to record sound on this little camera. GoPro = double system
Jim Feeley
Interesting box, Richard. Will be interesting to see what GoPro brings out in the coming year or two. They've been hiring lots of engineers and have some pretty ambitious plans (I know some people there). For example: Senior Audio DSP Engineer Invent, implement and follow thru audio algorithms on GoPro cameras and production testing of GoPro cameras. Not only to make GoPro cameras the best in sound recording quality, but also to create innovative sound recording capabilities that have never been done before. We'll all be working with GoPro cameras more in the future. But for now, ya they're kind of a pain.

Andrew From Deity
I use something like this. http://www.aliexpress.com/item/3-5mm-Mic-Adapter-Cable-for-GoPro-Hero-3-Audio-Video-Cables/1672495484.html I bought one for $0.99 off ebay or aliexpress... don't remember. Works great! Also can work as a headphone output on a Canon DSLR that's running Magic Lantern if you want to get a camera return. Its a lot better deal than the $40 Magic Lantern Headphone cable. CraigF
hand them a Nagra 4.2 and tell them the Go Pro has to sound this good side note: who besides me wants to see a Nagra 4 vs. Go Pro, as in the Nagra is dropped on the Go Pro from 3 floors up
