johnpaul215
Where can I buy all this friggin' sound and camera gear that disappears after the TSA takes it? That's a great question! Hmmmm http://www.eyeflare.com/article/where-buy-goods-confiscated-tsa/
Matt Mayer
TSA is totally inconsistent. They opened one case that I checked on the way home from Phoenix yesterday. It happened to have one NP-1 sitting right on top of everything. Left their calling card and the NP-1.
480sound
These pencil cases fit NP-1 batteries perfectly http://www.staples.com/JAM-Paper-Paper-Slide-Pencil-Case-Red/product_355454
bmjord
"Does anyone know of a protective sleeve that the NP1 will slip into?" http://www.versa-flex.com/audiogear/np1batteryholder.html Brian
RPSharman
I read some verbiage that you can have one battery and two spares for each device. iPowers are like disposables, and there are limits too. Don't remember what they are. But TSA probably thinks they're alkaline anyway. I'm not sure there's anything which "detects" lithium. If they recognize it as a lithium battery, then they interpret the rules as they see fit. Sometimes you get lucky and sometimes you don't. I'd rather source batteries wherever I'm going, if possible. johngooch
The large white lettering on each IDX does not help either......I put them in the bin lettering side down.
John Blankenship
Some time back I got a really good deal on a large number of the vinyl zipper pouches that Shure mics come in. They're handy for many things, including as a nifty NP-1 case. That's how I usually carry mine. I also have an ideal size nylon zipper case that I bought several years back when I was wearing lots of gear on a belt. I found it at Gander Mountain. It was made for a certain model Magellan handheld GPS unit.
EnotsMedia
+1 on using the original boxes...a little G tape helps boxes live a longer life, also keeps batts from getting beat up. I also always carry 2-3 w/ me when I fly, check the rest. If they get conf'd, I'm good for a bit till replacements come in.
Glen Deakin
At one point IDX was giving them away with the batteries
Placeslost
You guys do realize that the reason you shouldn't check the batteries is because they could catch fire, don't you? Don't know about you, but I don't want to take that chance with a plane I'm flying on, let alone my gear: http://mobile.abc.net.au/news/2014-09-08/undeclared-batteries-sparked-plane-fire-at-melbourne-airport3a/5728574
