afewmoreyears
Funny, I was there... I kind of grew up in the house (Log Cabin) on Lookout mountain and Laurel Cyn. that part of this story is about. My mom was employed by the LA free press and an editor writer for the Orcle newspapers in the 60s.. I spent much of my time in that cabin... and the funky cave in the back... I remember listening to Srgnt. Pepper as it was happening at that time in that house... actually, I think it was out a few years earlier... Every time I hear it, I think of that house...I remember it being a strangely relaxing and fun place to be... SO many people, so much going on.... I never knew most of the people were the biggest stars in the music industry... nor at that time did I care. There were so many smells with the incense and other smells in that place.. I remember that.... I just ran around barefoot... doing whatever I wanted.... It was fantastic..Nothing but great memories... My mom hung out with some heavyweights back in the day.. Leary and Ginsberg from time to time... or so she told me years later... I was too young to remember that... I was reading a book about Frank Zappa not too long ago, by Barry Miles... Chapter 11.. The Log Cabin... In the book it referenced that house.... at that time.... It was Frank's.... I never knew.. Being a HUGE fan of Zappa I was delighted to read that I hung out in his house during the hight of the 60s in Laurel canyon.. CA. and never even knew.... but, I did know I could of not been happier, it was a fantastic time of my life... I remember so much of it... especially the nudest colonies... LOL Wild as a kid... Jeff Wexler
AFMY, we need to talk. I was living in Laurel Canyon at that time, blown away while reading the article, so many memories. I might even have known you when you were a kid.
