Sony has come up with a better 'Premium Sound' memory card.  Perhaps there's some technical achievement here??

The way it works is with the ones and zeros that make up each digital word -- the ones are straighter which yields better transient response, and the zeros are fully rounded which makes them more musical.

Well, theoretically speaking it's to isolate noise be it emi or crosstalk between memory and the device which actually does exist. It theoretically can and does affect signaling anywhere in the device if not shielded. Practically speaking it's like worrying that your eye drop will offset the balance of the ocean's ecosystem...

If emi or crosstalk from a memory device affects your player, it's time to get a new player:-P
