Robert Buncher
For those of you who are using an external slate mic on the 664, what mic are you using? Thanks, Bob
BAB414
+1. I've been searching and cannot find a good gooseneck mic with ta3
Philip Perkins
I use a trashy lav that I reconnectored. Works ok. Internal mic basically worthless. p
Marc Wielage
I used a trashed Tram TR50 -- not good enough as a lav, perfect as a slate mic.
SeeKai
Those of you using lavs as the slate mic, is that including some sort of inline power supply? From memory the slate mic input is balanced and offers 12v powering (presumably phantom). I have an Me3 (me2 but with headband and gooseneck) that I'd like to repurpose as a 664 slate mic but thought that it was incompatible with the slate mic input and would need some kind of phantom - electret convertor in there somewhere... Pete D
I've used an Audio Technica PRO-49Q gooseneck mic before, attached to a stingray bag using cable cuffs. It powers fine off the 12 volts from the 664 and sounds great compared to the built-in mic. Cable cuffs are not exactly a permanent install but it felt solid while wearing the bag. BAB414
What kind of adapter are you using with that mic?
Pete D
What kind of adapter are you using with that mic? It's just a XLR-F to TA3-F cable.
Constantin
I use an Audio Technica Gooseneck mic. Not on a 664, but it's terminated on a TA3F. Website claims 11-52VDC is fine. I only use it with 48 (788)

Robert Buncher
Thanks for the replies on this. All my lavs either work or don't work so I could not go that route. Instead I picked up a short Beyer Dynamic gooseneck mic on Ebay for $20 and that is working just fine. I put it in the battery pocket of the Petrol with the mic just sticking out.
