bendybones
Hi All, I will be shooting a documentary in Yerevan, Armenia (and London). I would love to hear any advice re wireless in these places. Any blocks to use/avoid in these countries? I will be using Zax radios (and maybe some old G2/G3 for off screen translator) Any help much appreciated
Peter Mega
Hi bendy I'm Armenian but I live in Sydney Australia so I can't really help with your question. However I'm interested in what your doco is about. Armenia has a long history. Let us know if you can. Thanks

I don't expect to find many people here who have filmed in Armenia. But if anyone knows of a resource that might list it.... I have tried the usual suspects, such as Ollje's google doc. And plain googling of course.
Soundwell
Hi Bendy, Unfortunately can't help you with Armenian freq but in London, UK to operate legally you'll need to use channel 38, 606-614 MHz and channel 70, 863-865 Mhz. For bodyworn packs power limit is 50 mW max. I hope you find this helpful.

John Willett
Hi Bendy, Unfortunately can't help you with Armenian freq but in London, UK to operate legally you'll need to use channel 38, 606-614 MHz and channel 70, 863-865 Mhz. The 863.1 to 864.9 MHz band is licence-free and can be used all over Europe.. You CAN use other frequencies in the UK, but these are site-specific and you will have to buy a licence for every site. Penalties for use without a licence and/or use of illegal frequencies can be high in the UK.
Jon Gilbert
Not true that 38 can only be used in the UK, there are plenty of other places across the globe it's legal to use.
noni
Hi Bendy, I been in Armenia in 2009. actually all over the country filming movie called "Here" directed by Braden King. I was using Micron Explorer in 798-830 , with receiver placed in PQH with 7 elemnts Yagi antennas, I had no problem at all. I was getting very good range in busy Yerevan, or any where in the country. I am not sure if something changed there, but I think you wil be good in any block you choose. Great country, lovely people ! I am sure you will enjoy it.
