Matthias Richter
does the QRX100/200 add more processing delay to the analog signal out than a RX900 / RX4900? Receiving one signal from TRX742 all my 6 RX900 are in tune but the QRX 100 and 200 create phasing (it´s not the polarity cause I flipped the phase on my mixer to rule that out). Adding delay on the Fusion won´t help me cause I run through the analog Cooper mixer first. Matthias
rich
yes. there is also a difference in delay between single and dual mode. i did a test a while back and put the results here http://forum.zaxcom.com/forum/forums/digital-wireless/17811-of-delays-and-phase though i does look like ive taken down the wav files, as well as deleting them from my computer, which is a little irritating. and i cant remember what the exact figure is though 1.1ms is seeming familiar. (but i may have made that figure up - its been know to happen)
Matthias Richter
thanks Rich! It probably won´t be a problem in real life narrative film mixing cause talents will be moving etc. but if using (for whatever reason) TRXs in a musical scenario one needs to remember the fact that - although all signals are wireless and all Zaxcom - they are not in phase! Andy P
Or even mixing a doco scene with QRX and RX900 receivers, when you don't know who will speak next can be problematic because of the difference in latency. However much you dial in it's never correct, because the mics move etc. Best thing to do in that situation is mix it after the action.
