IEM antenna distribution query

Recommended Posts

I have two Sennheiser 300 series IEM transmitters and 6 receivers. I intend to use one transitter for director/scripty/video village and the second as foldback for the Boom op, each transmitter being fed different foldback mixes from the Cantar. Both are in the same band – 786-822 MHz. Of course, I will have to set the working frequency on one transmitter different from the second one, say the first one at 786 and the second one at 822. Do you think it is possible to use one single dipole antenna (the lectro SNA) to feed both transmitters, and if so will I need a passive splitter or something else?

Vin,

I use Sennheiser 300 IEM  and originally used the 2 frequency system you describe, although with separate antennas. I have recently changed to using the stereo inputs of my transmitter, with left input fed with a mix feed from my Sonosax mixer with override of the desk mike to talk to Director/ Scripty and the right input fed from an output of the DEVA so I can use the DEVA slate mike to talk privately to my boom operators. The IEM receivers are balanced fully left or right respectively using the 'Stereo Focus' mode and we just mark up each receiver for 'Sound' or 'General' use.

Regards

Roger
