Used Sound Devices 744t display questions

Hi there,

I've had a 302 for a year or so and I just purchased a used 744t. I'm currently testing it, having a bit of the old used gear paranoia. There's two things I'd like to know:

1. Is it normal for the LCD and LEDs to be unevenly lit? It's not that I can't read the info, but looking at it in the dark I can notice patches that are brighter than others.

2. Sometimes the LCD creates artifacts just after powering on. They don't stay on for more than a few miliseconds though and then the logo comes up and everything seems to work just fine.

Any help would be appreciated.

Thanks,
GV

Hi guys,

First of all #2 happens regardless of temperature. After more testing I noticed that the artifacts persisted one out of three times I would power the unit on in Flashlight mode. Here's a photo: http://imgur.com/wVxkd69

The seller agreed to replace the LCD for me so they're having it picked up later today. I hope this'll take care of the artifacts as otherwise everything seemed to be working fine.
