Kubrick discovers the Steadicam

In 1976 after seeing the shots we did on "Bound For Glory" with Garrett Brown and the original Steadicam, Jan Harlan sent a letter to Stanley Kubrick to tell him about this amazing new camera rig. Jan Harlan was Stanley's brother-in-law and served as executive producer for several of Kubrick's movies. When the letter was written I think Garrett's invention didn't even have a name yet. Ed DiGiulio with Cinema Products was going to be manufacturing the first Steadicams and it is clear that Kubrick wanted to get his hands on one as soon as possible.
