The price was $299 for about a week at Trew, then went up to $350. It would be a no brainer at $200, but priced too high right now IMO. What do you think?

Paging Dave Fisk: Ever think of selling straps, a sliding hinge on a platform, a 5/8" threaded cap, and a rubber foot with a female XLR pattern on it (for rear exit poles) and then selling it to us for $150? I'd be happy to test a prototype for you...just promise to call it the SlingRay

I am not much built for run and gun these days, but as one who has seen/played with/tried this gizmo may I state that if I had had one of these some 25 years ago, then I would have probably saved many thousands of $$ at the chiropractors. It is exactly what we should have all been using years ago.

Kindest regards,

I can imagine some specific shows where this would be a very valid option. Obviously not for every job, but definitely for some. If you are one of those people, is that $100 worth the pain and exhaustion? I spent a lot more than that to switch to a smaller rig from perfectly functional gear. I loved not being so worn out at the end of a day, let alone thinking about the long term effects of a heavy bag on my back etc. At one point my bag used to weigh 39lbs. Needless to say after a long day I was pretty spent. after a full week I needed days off to recover, and not out enjoy myself. Granted enjoying myself was sometimes running my 8.5 mile loop after wrap, and i still felt great.

Maybe some dealers will let you demo/rent it. If it fits your workflow, i would think that's money well spent.

Just for information, the list price in the UK, where the Dedleg originates, is almost exactly the same - at current exchange rates, it's $341, excluding tax. So I don't think that Trew are overcharging, it's the price set by the UK manufacturer.

Regards,

John
