jj le roux
The only thing that stands between me and a perfect relationship with these LAV's is that they are quick to get all bend and twisted with a mind of their own. Any ideas or tricks on how to get these undone.
ShubiSnax
You mean the cable doesn't wrap easily? I've heard some people hang them with a small weight at the bottom, some say to lay them in the sun for a bit. In my experience, new lav cables are a bit stiff(even the Sankens) but they will break in nicely after a bit of regular use.
Glen Deakin
Wrap them up loosely. Do that with all my lavs and store in CD sleeves. Makes unwinding a breeze.
Rick Reineke
"I've heard some people hang them with a small weight at the bottom"> - That's what I do when cables get kinked a little. I wind lav cables in about a three-inch over/under loop, come apart straight and tangle free when ready to use.
jason porter
I have the opposite experience with my mke2's. They seem to have a "springy" cable that is a little less flexible but doesn't have much memory.
Crussell
MKE-2s have steel strands in them making them quite strong but when they get kinked, they tend to keep that shape. Much like a paperclip, I've found you can just grab them with both hands and bend them back. They mostly go back straight.
Derek H
Nice sounding lav, terrible cable.
enginufuk
My experience is great sound, strong cable. If anything, I find it a little springy like Jason mentioned so my way of ignoring the problem is going with something else IF it is a tight wardrobe which makes it a little harder to work on. Pavel
Hello, the most simple way of dealing with it is hanging lav on a nail or hook, then warming the cable with hair dryer or with warm air you may use for shrink tube when soldering, then "wipe" the cable with dry cloth while applying moderate strenght. Do several passes from top to the end of cable and here you go, no more nasty curves!
