He was responsible for a lot of jobs in the independent horror fantasy genre. Employing a lot of eager film makers in the 70s, 80s and on through the 2000s . Known for the Nightmare on Elm Street, The Hills Have Eyes, and The Scream franchise. I met him a couple of times an talked on the phone a bit. The visuals from the first "Nightmare" are truly phenomenol, without CGI: Freddie coming through the wall, Depp's death in the bed...horrifying. Very sad.
