Matthias Richter
Have you ever heard of a Zaxcom DMX1000 Controller? http://www.ebay.de/itm/Zaxcom-DMX-1000-Digital-Audio-Mixer-Audio-Control-Head-/281676178725?hash=item4195356525:g:OMgAAOSwv0tVP4gM
Ze Frias
Yes. This is from back in the day before Zaxcom was only making production sound equipment. Here's a description of the DMX1000 directly from the Zaxcom website back in 1997, courtesy of the Wayback Machine: https://web.archive.org/web/19970215013642/http://www.zaxcom.com/DMX1000.html
Jeff Wexler
Zaxcom's first products, way before we knew anything about Zaxcom, were for studio broadcast, there were several digital mixers, timebase correctors and several other products. Zaxcom didn't enter our world of production sound recording until late 1997 with the original Deva I.
