Over the years, Doodles have marked the achievements of women in science, civil rights, journalism, sports, arts, technology and beyond. But for our 2016 International Women’s Day Doodle, we wanted to celebrate the next generation of Doodle-worthy women—the engineers, educators, leaders, movers and shakers of tomorrow.

I love and endorse this sentiment and aspiration. 1 way very good way of achieving the goal of empowerment for historically disadvantaged groups would be for large companies to pay their fair share of taxes and stop finding clever ways of avoiding this:

For a while now, we’ve been wanting to meet the Doodle team and learn more about how they make the Google doodles, so we were super excited to meet animator and doodler Olivia, to hear how she created the Lotte Reiniger doodle to celebrate her 117th birthday on June 2nd.
