Alan Gerhardt
We are experiencing a considerable picture to sound lag in video village. I am feeding a scratch track to a Sony F55 using an ERX, which then feeds via SDI to the Q Take. Have done this on many occasions with no problem. The Video Operator tells me everything is set up correctly; but I wonder! Any ideas of what setting in Q Take is wrong?
Matt Mayer
The easiest test would be to connect the SDI directly to a monitor with a speaker. If there is an A/V sync issue there, the problem is in the camera. If there is no sync issue looking at/listening to the monitor, the problem is in the QTake system. old school
If your sound is embedded with picture in the camera everything should remain in sync during playback. CrewC

CrewC Yes, and I'm wondering what you could do to the system to get the pix and sound in a camera SDI output OUT of sync…?
Wandering Ear
It's possible q take is sending the processed video signal but live audio, which would delay the video only. If that's the case they need to switch to either both live or both processed in q take.
Alan Gerhardt
Bingo! Wandering Ear! Problem solved. Always surprised at DIT's lack of technicality. Thank you for your help! Sorry not DIT - VTO!
Wandering Ear
Awesome. I had a conversation with a vtr op the other day about this q take setting. I was wondering why his video feed wasn't delayed, but another vtr ops who's using the same system always has a delay.
thope
Qtake is able to delay the audio if the village want the processed signal
