Ken Wilkinson
Finally getting close to finishing up my new cart. It started out as a Magliner water cooler bottle cart. I flipped the nose and added 4" locking casters to the front. Removed a shelf to make room for the rack case and have repurposed the rack case lids as work surfaces. The front lid can be secured to the top of the case with window latches. Added four QuickFists, three for boom poles and one for an old pole repurposed as an antenna mast. Rack contains an AC power conditioner, a 3u and 2u drawer. The drawers didn't have latches, so I added some magnetic cabinet latches and hey work great. LED light strips under each shelf, and one strip on the top of the bag. Would like to add a couple more strips inside the drawers, the tungsten nightlight bulbs in the power conditioner is seriously testing my OCD. Oh yes, and a cup holder. Last step is to figure some kind of cart power solution. Extremely happy with the build so far. Total cost around $400.
Constantin
That's a pretty cool cart, well done! It just looks like it could tip over easily with those casters so close to the large wheels.
Ken Wilkinson
It's very study when the wheels face front and are locked, not worried about any tippage. In the photo the wheels are facing back and not locked
