Taubert
Can anyone tell me the make of the microphone used in this photo? I believe that a Mole Richardson boom type 103B is what's holding the mic but I just don't know what type of mic is being used and if a hanger is holding it. Any help greatly appreciated. Thanks! Jay Rose
Looks something like a Western Electric 639 directional dynamic... The ad is from 1940, but heck: we had one at the studio where I worked in 1970!

John Blankenship
I believe the same mic was sold under the Altec brand. ...As a matter of fact, I just noticed it shows up in the link that Andres included above which mentions "in 1949 manufacture of these units was transferred to Altec-Lansing Corp."
