Richard Thomas
Here's a small, DC powerable (USB, 5V) digital mixer. 8 in, 10 out (2 outs are the headphone jack, but can but used as mix outs) with EQ, FX and pretty much anything routable to anything. Ins and outs are all analogue and it's even possible to do surround mixes (!). It also works as an audio interface Something which might be a bit of an issue for mixing is the lack of physical feedback- all the controls are touch sensitive strips. I've got one of their keyboards and it seems to be rather well made, however I see the mini USB connections as a definite weak point https://www.keithmcmillen.com/products/k-mix/
Philip Perkins
Someone will try this on a cart for sure. Any notion of how good the mic amps are? Yes, tough to mix on it while eyes are on a monitor, but you could prob figure it out with practice.

I'm wondering if that someone might be me as a bit of a stopgap before sonosax sort out a fader surface for the R4+ There's a bit more on the preamps here- 60dB clean gain and flat to 40kHz:https://www.keithmcmillen.com/blog/k-mix-µpre-audio-test-videos/ Limiters are digital, though so can overload pre-ADC Here's another way of mixing....https://www.keithmcmillen.com/blog/k-mix-api-part-2-controlling-k-mix-leap-motion-web-midi-api/
soundtrane
latency etc should be checked on i know keith mc for a long time (not him personally) he does come out with some interesting stuff, but whether it actually works well in the field and if it does any caveats etc, i have not cared to check. just sayin'... Richard Thomas
Well, I've bought one (mainly for non-production sound reasons), however I was pretty impressed with it. The faders are really responsive, there's a 'track' under where your fingers go with an indent at 0dB and you can mix by feel. The LEDs aren't really readable in direct sunlight, which may not be too bad if you're metering on something else. It takes a bit of getting your head around some of the settings (such as headphone monitoring) too, and figuring out 'where' you are and you do need the manual to get going - a few functions need to use the 'shift' key and figuring out what is what with some fx/pan settings. I've not plugged any mics in but it seems to sound good on line level sources- headphone amp seems decent
Mobilemike
Looks cool. If it had digital inputs so I could use my own pres and converters I would snap this up in a heartbeat! -Mike
