Nir
Hi guys, I'm looking for an external gooseneck mic with TA3 connector to function as a slate mic with the 664. Anyone have any recommendation? Best regards, Nir
Derek H
http://www.bhphotovideo.com/bnh/controller/search?N=10898860&InitialSearch=yes&sts=pi I used this on a 688 with good results. You're probably not going to find a gooseneck mic terminated in a TA3 off the shelf so just use an adapter cable.
Constantin
Audio Technica has a range of Goosenecks which terminate in a TA3-f. They supply them with a adaptor barrel which is a TA3-m on one side and XLRM on the other. For a while I used one of them (not the one below), but they are quite long. And the TA is on a cable which sort of dangles at the base of the mic, so you need to mount the mic somewhere. The base has screwholes, though. Here is an example:http://www.audio-technica.com/cms/wired_mics/71ec3b5fd1c24115/index.html
Derek H
I stand corrected For the Shure model I linked to above the XLR base provides a nice flat-ish surface for applying Velcro to which makes it easy to mount in a bag rig.

Smooth Operator
A gooseneck talkback mic is on my list of future upgrades. Is it a noticeable-enough improvement?
Derek H
Big time. The 6-series built in mics are awful.
