GlennP
Hi, I thought someone might have use for this. A small SDR and RTL2832 dongle combo for scanning frequencies if having problems with radio mics or RF interference. I use HDSDR but there are plenty of others around that are free including some basic spectrum analysers. The dongle connects via usb2 and antenna via sma. Inside the dongle the rtl chip can receive from 100khz to 2ghz (my version). Most do 50mhz up to 1.5ghz. Might be good for troubleshooting RF. mikewest
Great stuff but on location you need a handheld solution I use and RF EXPLORE in conjunction with the scanning ability of my Lectro 400 receivers mike
daniel
You can also connect the RFexplorer to a computer for the big screen experience. But being small and hand held it makes it easy to do an RF survey of a location and its battery lasts long enough to leave it on, all day in your bag if you need to. http://j3.rf-explorer.com/
GlennP
Not seen the rfexplorer before. Thanks for the link. I did a tour de france job where the huge amount of rf on site knocked all my mics off and even interfered with my cars remote alarm meaning i couldn t unlock properly to replace a dead battery on the camera. I got the door open and got a battery but the alarm would not stop making one hell of a racket. Battery replaced. Once the circus had moved on I could get back to work. daniel
I'm envious of the TdF gig as tricky as it sounds.
