Philip Perkins
Can anyone suggest an off-the-shelf right angle (adjustable) TA3F field-serviceable connector that doesn't require an endoscope and a mechanical engineering degree to deploy? Have tried two versions from Usual Suspects, very expensive per each, hated them, to big too fragile too fussy. This is for a bespoke setup so I need to solder them myself (re a Kortwich commission). Is the only solution to hack up straight connectors and epoxy them up? I'd like something that I could change the cable-exit angle on in the future, as well as repair if they get damaged. thx
Constantin
I can only think of those by Remote Audio. Surely you've tried them when you say "usual suspects"? They certainly seem to meet all of your requirements
efksound
I think if you contact Eric Toline at PSS Florida he might have what you are looking for
Philip Perkins
Thanks, I'll ask. But I want raw connectors, not custom-built cables.
Eric Toline
Sorry Philip raw connectors are not available.

nickreich
you might be able to buy the right-angle caps direct from efksound in spain when he gets back from holidays in September - I'm keeping an eye on his FB page as I want some too

The caps with our "PSS" on them were custom made for us by EFK sound.
John Blankenship
I'm guessing, Philip, that you've also checked out the ones Lectrosonics sells?
Eric Toline
You really don't want the RA TA assemblys from Lectro called the "RATPACK." The set screws that hold the connector in place are always coming loose. Here's the RATPACK from Lectro. $48 each.
Pat Slater
Apart from the price of the Lectro RATPACK I have found them great. As far as the set screws go, nothing a drop off nail polish won't hold.
soundtrane
or loctite blue...
Eric Toline
I find that the set screws really can't hold the insert firmly in place. Tightening the set screws down to lock the insert in place is almost impossible considering the extra small Allen wrench that is supplied and forget any field adjustment that might be required. NateWBS
Ambient have this available now: http://ambient.de/en/product/ta3f90l/ It appeares to be a modded Rean that can be re-used.
johnpaul215
Has anyone used the Remote Audio ones yet? I saw them at NAB, but I haven't heard any first hand field reports.
Philip Perkins
I bought some (expensive). I don't like them at all, I'm not smart or dexterous enough to successfully work them myself, kind of big, like the ones Lectro sells. Redding has some new ones incoming that look better. joy
I did it myself.
Derek H
Nice, Joy. Looks like a BNC ra body? Philip, try Gene at audio department. They have something. Not sure if they sell the parts.
joy
Not RA body BNC. It may be a machine tool or a similar device. Use for connecting tubing. 10 mm in diameter (M10), very cheap, I bought in China, only need about $0.3.Ta3 or TA5 can be installed directly. But there is a problem, there are little, may need to drill, the inside of the hole enlargement point.
