MartinTheMixer
Hello, all. Nomad 12 won't turn on aes42 mics on input one. Both aes power switchs are flipped on. Anyone care to guess why it won't work? Thanks in advance, Martin
Bash
This is very obvious, but..... Did you route Digital IP 1 to somewhere?
MartinTheMixer
Yes, but thank you. It works on my 10, just not on 12. Odd. I will take any ideas no matter how crazy.
John Blankenship
In INPUT CONFIGURE what is your INPUT TYPE set on? See page 34 in the manual.
MartinTheMixer
13. Is the input configure. Please keep guessing.

John Blankenship
Have you done the full reset that I mentioned earlier?
MartinTheMixer
John, yes. Thank you. I did it once, but I thought about how I had nomad 10 primary and mirror cards in it. So, I grabbed 2 more cards, formatted them in Nomad 12, then, reset factory settings. And nothing. But thank you for trying. I tried monkeying with the settings under phantom power, the auto kill, etc. Nothing.
John Blankenship
What firmware are you using?
MartinTheMixer
John, 7.90 I believe. Whatever is current on website today. I even upgraded 10 to same software to see if it would also not work with aes42. But the 10 kept working. Thank you, Martin
John Blankenship
If it were me I'd install the latest full release version (7.77) and then do a factory reset and manual rebuild just to see if I could avoid a round trip to the garden state. However, it's sounding more and more like that may be necessary.
MartinTheMixer
John, you are going 7.77 instead of the current version. Where are you going with that? Why go older software? Sincerely, Martin
John Blankenship
According to Howy's notes in the listings in the Zaxcom Forum, 7.77 is the latest official release version. The ones beyond that are still considered in beta. If you want the most stable operation always go with a full release version, and one that has been in the pipeline long enough that most of the bugs have been sought out and slaughtered. If your interests lie more along the lines of enjoying technology's razor edge, grab every new release as it is issued and be on the lookout for new gotchas that you or others may find. Neither is a right or wrong approach, it's a matter of choice. As listed in the Zaxcom Forum: Nomad_7.90.zip (BETA)Nomad_7.89.zip (BETA)Nomad_7.81.zip (BETA)Nomad_7.80.zip (BETA)Nomad_7.77.zip (release)

So, the 10 has the same version as the 12. The 10 works with aes, the 12 does not. Do you think that matters? I.e., Do you think a 10 could work with a software version that the 12 does not work with. Sincerely, Martin
John Blankenship
Maybe you already mentioned this, but what did Zaxcom say when you called them about the issue?
MartinTheMixer
John, Bridgen thinks power supply is dead. Sincerely, Martin
