Rich Sound
Hello I own an Audio Technica 4053a and overheard someone looking for a 4053b. I now use an MKH 50 so the 4053a is gathering dust. I was wondering what the difference is between the 4053a and 4053b. Is it just a newer model with some tweaks or is it a completely different mic? Rick Reineke
Aside from the 4053b being RoHS compliant (hazardous substance)... they are allegedly very close in sound, though I have not had an opportunity to A-B test them. According to the specs, the 1st gen. 4053a has a slightly hotter output. (22.4 mV <> 19.9 mV )
