I've always felt that nearly half a century wearing headphones affected my hearing, but my ENT doesn't agree--he thinks head colds, viruses and very loud noises of any kind (like that firecracker incident when I was a kid...) have had more effect. Re: understanding live (ie not thru your cans) conversation, I've also had the diffs between HEARING and LISTENING explained to me....
