OmahaAudio
Doesn't anyone understand the power of those 'sound guys' (and ladies)? "A sound engineer who put Donald Trump’s microphone on him on The Apprentice told BuzzFeed News that Trump repeatedly referred to him as a “fucking monkey,” and regularly sexually harassed the women on set — including pointing out their butts while on set. The engineer, who is white, asked to remain anonymous out of fear of retribution, was a sound mixer on NBC’s The Apprentice for two seasons in 2004 and 2005. Sometimes it was the engineer’s job to mic up Trump, which involved intimate physical contact, including threading the wire up Trump’s shirt and around his collar. “Micing him was honestly the most abusive, humiliating, experience of my fifteen years as a sound engineer,” the engineer told BuzzFeed News. “He treated me like I wasn’t a human being.” The engineer said the first time he was assigned to put a mic on Trump the television personality refused to shake his hand, instead turning to one of his many assistants and saying, “’Woah, woah woah, who’s this fucking monkey?’” the engineer said, adding that the comment was not racially charged. He said throughout their interactions Trump refused to address him directly, instead aiming all of his comments about the engineer to his assistants. “’I’m not gonna let this fucking monkey touch me unless he washes his hands,” Trump said, according to the engineer Trump then made one of his assistants escort Bruce to the bathroom and watch him wash his hands, before walking him back and telling Trump he washed up. “Trump just kept calling me a ‘fucking monkey’ over and over,” the engineer said. “I’ve mic’d everyone from Ben Affleck to Renée Zellweger, and never, ever in my career have I run into something like that.” The engineer said everyone on set was treated badly by Trump. He spoke of Trump pointing out a camera woman’s butt in front of everyone and saying other misogynistic things. “Everyone was walking on eggshells,” the engineer said. He eventually quit The Apprentice because “no amount of money was worth that toxic environment.”" - Buzzfeed https://www.buzzfeed.com/emaoconnor/trump-called-mic-guy-fucking-monkey?utm_term=.svEL11pJY#.kkjrLL4wm
Philip Perkins
Yeah, DT isn't very nice to crew people. He has plenty of company in that category, NY, Hollywood, SF etc etc. No reason to out the sound guy if he asked not to be outed, right? That network is prob a regular client.... Philip Perkins
Was that spew really necessary? Are you really that pissed off, or desperate? If so, could you take all that to Facebook or etc? This isn't my forum, but I do hang here a lot, and that post crossed a line I hadn't seen crossed here before. Disproved by Snopes: http://www.snopes.com/hillary-clinton-freed-child-rapist-laughed-about-it/ I don't deny that Hillary is a manipulative, aggressive politician, but to me she's the better of two choices. Trump strikes me as paranoid, petulant, and misinformed. And I don't hear stories about her being abusive with "the hired help."

Olle Sjostrom
As an outsider watching and reading all these comments, the one thing I see very clearly that the both of them are using crude language towards other people that deserve better. But DT uses that same language in debates and in the open. All of the quotes from HC are from books, as far as I can tell. How are Hillary's words worse? Are you just trying to prove a point that she, too, is a foul mouthed person? I mean who isn't and what does it matter? DT is standing in the stage on TV saying racist crap.I think it really comes down th HC being a woman and you think women should be better. Like she's the mother of a spoiled kid (DT). It's sad to see . And how is Hillary even remotely responsible for Bill's actions? Just because she's his wife? That meme made no sense. John Blankenship
On the ballot some seasons ago was a referendum to keep politics sequestered from our main forum. Jeff cast the deciding vote and there has been less civil unrest here ever since. These candidates may not be better than this, but aren't we? What happened to our self-policing that Jeff counts on? Please help save our forum from ourselves! Besides, I've come to the realization that, this election, both of the major party candidates are weevils. How did I arrive at this conclusion? Because most of the people I know have stated that they're "going to vote for the lesser of the two weevils." (If you're scratching your head, read it out loud.) No Mr. Nameless Mirror, it was aimed at you, as well as those would take up your challenge to mud-sling. And I'd like for this forum (or this part of it) to return to its usual civil self. I don't like seeing this forum devolving into the sort of ugly ad hominem crap that has swallowed up other social media outlets.

RPSharman
I think this thread started as a bit of "joke", asking if the sound guy on "The Apprentice" was part of this JWSound community. It would be appropriate to remove some of the targeted words in the intial post, and perhaps remove all other political posts in this thread, and get back to the original post. It seems that person has elected to remain anonymous, which is his right. I think a lot of successful people behave badly and leave a wake of upset and abused people behind them. John Blankenship
And don't forget that everything you read on the internet is 100% accurate... ...except for the vast amount of things that aren't. Which means that the internet is a half-vast place to get information.
Jim Feeley
Folks, you all know about the option on this forum to ignore (hide) posts from certain posters, right? "Ignoring a user allows you to block some or all of their content from showing. Users are not notified that you are ignoring them." In the upper-right corner, under your name, go: Manage Settings > Other Settings > Ignored Users Then you'll see a straightforward dialog that lets you add jwsoundgroup users to your ignore list. You can also unignore users. I'd rather not ignore anyone; not my style and some of the users I've ignored sometimes post good stuff with interesting perspectives. But I have enough stress in my life and want to keep JWS a low-stress place to hang out. Ignoring a few people helps with that.
Philip Perkins
I don't want to need to ignore anyone. Most regular posters here have very valuable insights about our work to share, and I don't want to miss them. I just want everyone to behave a little more like we are sitting together on Jeff's patio and less like we are at a street demonstration. Philip you gotta use the quote function, I want to see the offending post! If someone spoke to me that way I might laugh at first (even though that would not be the best response), and then tire of it very quickly. I'd do what I do now with difficult talent - hand it off to the producers. I'd tell them to mic him themselves, and complain to HR about a hostile work environment. I agree with John B. btw. Jeff Wexler
Some posts have been removed, some by me, some by others --- let's just leave it be. The whole topic got a little out of hand. I was hoping it would sort itself out, and it did, sort of, but let's just try and be a little more careful in the future.
John Blankenship
Any time the subject invokes politics and even hints of choosing a side -- no matter how well meaning or circumspect the originating post -- it will devolve as this one did -- fewer things are more predictable. Seldom does anyone engage in a political discussion with the intent of learning to see another person's viewpoint. Those conversations are rare, and I treasure them, but experience has taught us that this is not the venue where such enlightened political discourse will happen. My skin's plenty thick, but the cost/benefit ratio of posts from those people was just too high for me.
