Ken Wilkinson Posted October 20, 2016 Report Share Posted October 20, 2016 I had no intentions of going analog on my cart build, but the opportunity came up to pick up a well cared for AD 145 so I took it. Hoping someone can help me understand the gain staging as it seems a bit unusual. The channel faders go to 0, and the master faders go to +10. What I've noticed is I have to lower the channel fader about 20dB to match the PFL level. Shouldn't they be the same with the fader at 0? i suppose this isn't a problem because I have plenty of gain available on the recorder, but would love to understand the relationship.
