chiguy82
I'm not sure if this is the proper place to post this question so let me know if this question should go elsewhere. I came across some K-Tek equipment that I've been having trouble identifying. Only one piece was marked K-Tek and nothing had model numbers. I thought it was for some sort of video or camera type boom but the piece with the sharp blade has me totally stumped. I've gone through everything product I can find on their website & have found nothing similar. Any guidance on what this set is called or used for would be greatly appreciated! JonG
Interesting find! Do be aware that K-Tek also makes equipment for other industries like the military, so this could be a bomb probing kit. I have never seen anything like this on set or otherwise as well. Maybe someone from K-Tek can help is out on this one

Marc Wielage
I'm positive I saw a case like this in the last installment of Saw.
Dutch
That's a prototype Boom Operator paratrooper survival kit, I was on the Beta team. The cable operated clamp setup was really handy. It enables the boom operator to launch the clamp in the event the 2nd AC drops the slate. It's a little tricky to get the hang of at first. DanieldH
Are scythe, clamps, cable etc amagnetic? From http://ktekpro.com/law-enforcement-armed-forces/ Quote The headpieces can be modified or an adapter can be attached with a standard rail system. Currently K-Tek poles are used in various EOD and IED kits. [...] For more information, please contact us.
chiguy82
Thanks to everyone for their input. I contacted the company & they did confirm that it was something that they had worked on for armed forces/law enforcement but they didn't know what the modifications were supposed to be for. Dutch, thank you for the heads up. I'll have to look in to that. I did a little preliminary googling on what you were talking about but didn't get very far. I'll have to look into it further when I have a little more time. (Personally, I was rooting for the giraffe decapitator theory.) Thanks again to all for the help.
