IFB200 interfering with comteks

Recommended Posts

I recently pickup an IFB200 to control my TX remotely; however, I've run into an issue where the IFB200 completely overpowers the comteks with a loud tone. I've tried many different channels with the comteks with no success. I didn't think this was going to be a issue since the IFB200 is operating around 2.4GHz. Is there something I'm missing, or will I just have to kill the IFB200 when I don't need to adjust gain or frequencies?

Thanks.

Try powering the IFB200 from a separate power source.

Try reducing the IFB200 power setting a notch or two.

which Comtek transmitter are you using?

Yeah try setting it to 5 maybe. You might have better luck using the BST-75 216 transmitter which has better shielding and a balanced input.

For kicks, try wrapping the M216 in tin-foil, you might be surprised.

It sounds like the Comtek transmitter plastic body let's certain RF leak through. If a cell phone is next to the transmitter, it can leak noise through too.
They're not *really* meant for our uses.
Some people have tried to put them in some sort of shielded pouch, but I don't know how well that works.
