audiofp
Looking at purchasing a Lectro MCA5X for my HMa. I'm wondering if my two Ambient Eumels will work. Anyone have any experience with this?
karlw
Yes, the Ambient unit will work for that purpose. The differences are: the MCA5X requires you to set the bias voltage on the transmitter to 5 V. Also, the MCA5X can NOT be used with 48 V phantom power. The Ambient Eumel requires 48 V, and will not work with 5 V.

Paul Katzman
You can save some money if the Lectro adapter is cheaper, since the HMa can be set to 5v power. I can confirm from my own experience that the HMa set to 48v plays just fine with the Eumel however.
Glen Deakin
Not to hijack this to far but does the zaxcom 742 play well with the eumel?
audiofp
I did a job using the Eumels and it was fine. Not having to change the HMa voltage is one less detail for this tired old brain.
Alan Gerhardt
I regularly use the Eumels with my 742's and 743's with no problems at all. Great for last minute place mics using CUB 01 in vehicles.
