allan
I need to make up cables for some Audix M1250B mics - what cable is best for this? I've got some Ream RT3FC-B ends, and i'm looking at Canare L-2T2S, L-2E5, or L-2E5AT. I've got a roll of L-4E6S, but they need something smaller. I'm leaning towards the L-2E5AT as its $183/roll - looks like that's for permanent install rack wiring though.
Rick Reineke
Yes, the L-2E5AT has a foil shield and is designed for permanent installs, so it's somewhat stiff. I like the Canare L-2E5 2 conductor mini mic cable and the L-4E5C Star-quad mini. Both are around 4-5mm OD. Markertek (and Redco I think) sells it by-the-foot if you don't need a 600+ ft. roll. mark kirchner
Both Markertek and Redco Audio sell both cables buy the foot. Markertek sells the Canare L-4E5C mini star-quad in different colors by the foot, Redco sells black only.
allan
Thanks guys, think i'll go with the L-2E5 as long as thats fine for running 48v through.
Rick Reineke
You should have no problems with Phantom Power (18-52v for that mic) as long as the connectors are wired correctly.
allan
got a whole roll, so there will be a couple hundred feet leftover if anyone here needs some. Thanks
