COS-11's are just about the most difficult lavs to solder. The individual leads are extremely thin and have no stability to stay in place. It's the perfect self torment for masochists.

It's just that I can only do 180' whereas in post they can slip by the frame. 

you can slip by frame down to sample in pro tools, and you can see it, too. 

I don't sweat it. It's easy enough to line up the phase in pro tools if you know what you're doing.
