Eric Toline
Here's the problem, Schoeps CMC 641 mic works perfectly when powered from a mixers 48vp, however when powered from any plugon tx with 48v phantom it sounds tubby with no midrange and HF response. The problem is in the mic but why?
soundtrane
Would advise to check the voltage on the plug on tx compared to the 48V Ph from the mixer... Apart from this, cant think of anythying else off-hand....
John Blankenship
Also compare using a phase reverse adapter on the plug-in.
Eric Toline
The Lectro plug on units we used powered other microphones with no problems. The CMC 6 in question worked fine at both 12 & 48vp when fed from a mixer. I should add that the mic used to work fine with a plug on tx and then just stopped a couple of days ago. In any event the mic is on it's way to Schoeps via Redding Audio and should be back in about 2 months.
