Magliner Shelf trim

Recommended Posts

Hey, I'm building a cart based on a filmtools/backstage junior.

i want to add rubber trim to the edges of the shelves, much like what you find on the PSC carts and upright film tools shelves.

whats a good material to use, what's is that type of thing called?

Often what is used is a product that is used as an edge to automotive headliner. I know I bought a roll of this edging at auto supply store. It is what Backstage used for the edging around their cart shelves. It is also available as door guard, again, for cars --- I would look around at automotive supply stores or online.

Thanks Jeff,

I went to the autozone down the street and found "door edge molding" that worked great.

In my research I found this stuff called Trim Lok which looks identical to the stuff on the Film Tools shelves I have, both have an aluminum core that can pinch onto whatever your putting it on. Grainger and Amazon sell it.

I used the door trim as well. It uses a heat sensitive adhesive that for me, got messy down here in Florida. I've had to peel it off and clean the residue several times. I tried silicone and so far it's been fine.
