Spectreman
Hi all. I have not posted much at all to this forum, as am just an amateur hobbyist sound recording enthusiast. I do not do this as a profession. Just wanted to see if anyone has tried using the Rode NTG4+ shotgun mic ? I recently purchased one, sounds very good, but after only charging it the one time, the damn internal Li-Ion battery pack has gone faulty. It will no longer charge or hold any charge. The mic turns itself off after about 5secs. I do not have phantom power to use with my recorder. Needless to say, I am not impressed ! Perhaps I will be better off getting an NTG2 that uses AA batteries, after I get a full refund of course.... Real pity, I like the features of the NTG4 mic. Cheers, Chris. Derek H
Get it fixed! Rode warranties their products.
Spectreman
Yes. I have contacted the dealer I bought it off, and they will provide me with a warranty replacement unit this weekend. So I should be using one again very soon. I did manage to record a school band concert with it before the battery failed, and the recording turned out very well. Spectreman
Ok Ty, thanks for the link, I think I read this before I purchased the mic. All is good now, I have a replacement NTG4+ and is working very well.
